The Dagger is a Regency design of sensor platform, usually carried by survey or recovery vessels rather than warships. Grapples for Daggers are included in the design of the Bialek Class Strikeboat. The drone takes the form of a cylinder with folding swept-back wings and cruciform tail surfaces. A 48-tonne HEPlaR drive can accelerate the craft at up to 8G with enough fuel for 5 hours continuous thrust.
A variety of sensors are carried, in contrast to the military Missile/Drone which carries only a 150,000 km Passive folding array. The primary sensor system is a folding 120,000 km Passive folding array, which is used for long range search and acquisition. Shorter ranged navigation sensors (30km Active and 3000 km Passive fixed arrays) are also carried for use under evasion or inside an atmosphere. For rescue work a 50 metre Neural Activity Sensor and short ranged radio is carried, as well as a pair of light manipulator arms.
Normally the drone is controlled by one operator at a remote MFD station, communicating by means of a 1000AU maser
