US citizens obviously are stupid. Or misinformed. Or too ignorant to get
themselves informed.
- 74% support death penalty, 20% oppose it (1994)
- Death penalty has a positive influence on violent crimes with a
factor of 0.11. This is not significant (0.20 would be) but that it is
positive says enough. If death penalty would be of any use, it would
have to be negative, below -0.20 to be significant.
- Apropos: Today I've seen ABC News accidently, as I did some days ago...
I mean, its terrible early in the morning. Obviously they've got
Another Anti-Drug Campaign running. It goes like this: "20 percent of
the people whose parents have warned them from Marijuana have tried it,
while 40 percent of the people who weren't warned by their parents
tried it". So please tell me How they found this one out. And
after that, explain the following: "Why is the number of people who
fear to fly in aricrafts smaller among aircraft-passengers who weren't
told of crashes, than the number of frightened passengers among those
who have been warned of crashes?"
