cpuu(1) cpuu(1) NAME cpuu - copy Unix to Unix SYNOPSIS cpuu [ options ] source-file destination-file cpuu [ options ] source-file... destination-directory DESCRIPTION The cpuu copies files between systems. OPTIONS The following options may be given to cpuu -c, --crack Remove copy protection or other methods in software defined as "A class of methods for preventing incompetent pirates from stealing software and legitimate customers from using it. Considered silly" -C, --code [language] Forces cpuu to write the code itself. A programming language may optionally be specified but no guarantee is given that C is not used. (See BUGS). -d, --demo Create funny demo not doing anything besides putting fancy graphics onto the screen and producing strange noises out of the soundcard. -D, --coredump Forces cpuu to dump core. No further documentation is available on this subject. CPUU 1.00 1 cpuu(1) cpuu(1) -h, --help Ask cpuu for help. May be ignored (See BUGS). -f, --free Give away software freely. If possible source code will be included. -g, --graphics Produce graphics. Eventually these will be made by a living being, but cpuu may as well produce computed or raytraced graphics. -I file, --config file Set configuration file to use. This option may not be available, depending upon how cpuu was compiled. -j, --join [occupation] Join cpuu. May specify a specific occupation as an argument. -s, --sound [format] Make sound. File format might be specified but can be overridden. -t, --trade Give away software for the benefit of getting other software. cpuu may also decide to not to do this or to give away everything freely possibly including source code as with the -f switch. -v, --version Report version information and exit. -w, --write [subject] Write documentation. A subject may optionally be specified. (See BUGS) CPUU 1.00 2 cpuu(1) cpuu(1) -x, --debug Turn on particular debugging types. The following types are recognized: abnormal, cat, handshake, proto, pooldir, execute, defenestrate, in, out, sex. Only abnormal, execute, pooldir and defenestrate are meaningful for cpuu. Multiple types may be given, separated by commas, and the --debug option may appear multiple times. A num- ber may also be given, which will turn on that many types from the foregoing list; for example, --debug 2 is equivalent to --debug abnormal, cat FILES The file names may be changed at compilation time or by the configuration file, so these are only approximations. /usr/lib/cpuu/config - Configuration file. /home/ftp/incoming - CPUU spool directory. /var/log/xferlog - CPUU log file. /home/ftp/pub/ - Default CPUU public directory. SEE ALSO gcc(1), gdb(1), strace(1), uucp(1), winnuke(1), sniffit(1) BUGS Some of the options are dependent on the capabilities of the remote system. cpuu may ignore any command-line arguments given.
